Seifu ON EBS

Today after many years I stood and sang for my country! Mixed feelings! Oh my power! Who do you represent your country? If they tell me, it's up to you. A friend of mine once said, "When the new Haile Grand Hotel raises and lowers the Ethiopian flag in the morning and evening, the national anthem of Ethiopia is sung." Then workers, local and foreign customers will stand there. Whether I missed singing or watching the show, I succeeded today. We arrived around 11:59. As we entered the yard and put the bag through the machine, suddenly there was a loud noise in the yard. The workers left their accommodation and turned their faces towards the banner. There was silence except for the chanting. I was shocked as to why. I turned around too. Everyone who moves stands and sings or listens. To my surprise, even incoming cars stopped at the gate. Because the flag of Ethiopia is being lowered, and the song is hers. I sang with mixed emotions. I thought I found that country I longed for in silence. I remember one session when our principal knelt down saying, "This flag is a book written in blood, but you --" just because we were moving while singing as students. When we arrived late after the flag was hoisted, I thought about how we were beaten because we were told that you have no respect. Happiness and tears are equal! I am happy that this happened to Shaleka Haile G/Salase who shed tears for the honor of the flag and paid the price for the country. Haile Grand, who miss your country, pop up in the morning or at night. There you will find the "dignity of citizenship" every day. Oh my power, what can I say about you? I envy your zeal and passion for Ethiopia. It will be my pleasure if you see everything you wish for your country in your time. God, who cannot be strengthened, will achieve all the good things that you set your mind to. May your loving covenant protect you. (Lord September)
